Abstract

Tetrazole carboxamide is one of the important categories of heterocyclic compounds that acquire a broad spectrum of biological and medicinal properties. The present work deals with the synthesis and characterization of some novel 1-aryl-N-tosyl-1H-tetrazole-5-carboxamide derivatives. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, elemental and mass spectrometric analysis. The compounds were evaluated for their in-vitro and in-vivo anti-diabetic and antimicrobial activity. Synthesized compound 3i 10 mg/kg exhibited maximum glucose lowering effect in diabetic rats compared to the other ten doses. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated in ADME properties and in-silico docking studies against proteins (PDB code-1E7U, 3KP3).

Keywords: Tetrazole carboxamide, Molecular docking, Anti-diabetic and antimicrobial activity, ADME property.
